Close to Banff, Canmore and Kananaskis, we guide for Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Bull Trout and Arctic Grayling. You will be surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains while you fish through the ice.
Once we get to the lake, we will hike out to the fishing spot together. We will drill some holes and get the tent(s) set up over those holes as our base area. Everyone has the option to take a turn with the Auger and get some cool videos of themselves punching holes in the ice. Then we’ll fire up the heaters and get the rods and sonar ready! We will teach everyone how to use their own personal sonar, and will go over jigging and fish fighting techniques. If conditions are right, we will set up some underwater video cameras as well. We will then drill more holes outside so you can choose if you want to fish in the tent, or outside. Everyone can fish with two rods at the same time, so one is set up in a rod holder outside the tent, and one is actively being jigged inside or outside.
25% deposit is due upon booking. Payment in Full is due 10 days before your trip.
Cancellation Policy: A $50 handling fee is charged for cancellations beyond 30 days notice. Cancelling (or rescheduling) your booking within 30 days of your trip results in loss of the 25% deposit. Cancellation within 10 days of the trip results in loss of 100% of the cost of the trip.

We will meet you at Spray Lakes and have everything set up and ready to go unless you want to be part of the set up. Your group will hike out on to the lake to the fishing spot. We will have ice holes in the tent(s) to act as our base area. If it is warm enough to also fish outside, we will drill holes outside the tent for each person's second rod, and everyone will have the option to take a turn on the Auger and you can get some cool videos of your family and friends punching holes through the ice surrounded by beautiful, rugged mountains! The tent will have a heater in it, and we will set up an underwater video camera or two with live feeds inside the tent so you can see the lake trout and whitefish! The camera is positioned on the bottom so you can see both your lures, and the fish coming up to take a look and eat. Depending on snow cover, the water is so clear, you can usually see 30 feet down the hole! We will go over jigging and fish fighting techniques through the ice.

You will lose service half way to the lake, so make sure you have purchased your fishing license already, and contact us early if you need to for any reason because we will also lose service. Close to Banff, Canmore and Kananaskis, we guide for Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Arctic Grayling. A day of searching for fish at a mountain lake that has only been fished a handful of times since ice up. We will guide you on a snowshoe hike to a mountain lake that has often only been fished by our clients during the course of the winter. Your guide will hike in with a backpack full of rods and a hand auger. You carry up a pack with your bucket with a swivel seat, a sonar, and your lunch. Enjoy your surroundings on your hike and while you fish in total solitude for fish that are often eager to eat. These trips are full day only. There is no heater or tent on these trips, so they are for more experienced winter outdoorspeople. Check with us for availability as these trips only go certain times a year.

We will recommend what lakes and species are fishing best before your trip. Let us know if numbers of fish or size is most important to you and your group! Let us know if indoor bathroom facilities and a hot BBQ lunch are important to you. We will tailor the trip for your group’s individual needs!
Beginners are welcome as jigging lessons are included and basic ice fishing techniques will be covered. How to go after different types of fish, and where to drill your hole when you get to a new lake will be covered. A guided day with us is the best way to see if this is a pursuit the whole family can enjoy! After a day with us, lots of families have bought the equipment themselves, and have started the tradition of ice fishing together. You’ll get the confidence you need to do this on your own.
Families are encouraged, as bringing your son or daughter is a great way to introduce them to this great sport while handing them down some of our heritage. People ask us what age we take fishing. We have taken everyone down to newborns. Everyone knows their own kids. Some 4-year-old children can sit all day and love every second of fishing. Some 12-year-old children don’t have the patience. We are happy to take any age, as long as the parents are along on the trip.
